Welcome Back
I have toyed with the idea of making leather books for a while, but moral issues about it being the skin of an animal have put me off for ages. But still the curiosity remained, I kept looking at the wonderful leather books that my friends from the Book Arts Forum http://www.bookartsforum.com/forum/ were making, especially Rhonda http://myhandboundbooks.blogspot.com/ and Kiley http://kupokiley.blogspot.com/ and wanted to try this sort of binding for myself.
Well fate gave me a shove when Jackie who runs the Book Arts forum had a Virtual Yard sale and I was lucky enough to buy some of her leather scraps. Just look what the postman brought last week;
Look at the wonderful colours, I wish you could smell how lovely this leather smells. Ok I am a convert I love leather. Now comes the searching for leather and for some details on what to do with it. So far I am continuing the bindings I learnt from Keith Smith’s books and I’ll see how far that gets me.
Come back soon for pictures of how my first leather book turned out.
Best wishes and thanks for reading
Billie xx

Visiting from the stampin Mad forum. I recently received a tutorial from someone showing how to make a book. I am no where near where you are, but I love the look of that leather!
Hi G
I recognized your name
Go on take the plunge, have a go at a book. There are plenty of You Tube video links on here to point you in the right direction. Its a lot of fun and doesn’t have to take ages to make a book.
If you have general papercrafting tools you will have enought to make a simple book.
