Welcome Back
Well that title is a bit of a mouthfull isn’t it. Zoomorphic creatures were first found in the Book of Kells, they feature animals and people intertwined in knotwork styles. Here is a picture of the first pyrography project I did, it features Zoomorphic birds from the Book of Kells.

Best wishes and thanks for reading
Billie

Hi Billie -
Your pyrography is beautiful. I’ve been dying to try this myself. I purchased a book a while back and have an inexpensive woodburner, but have just not had the time to try it out. Guess I will just have to make time. Thanks for sharing!
Happy New Year!

Hi Elaine
Thanks for your nice comment, if you are just starting out do check out this link; http://www.woodburner.com/news.php
They have all kinds of ideas, inspiration and tuition on that site.
I use simple carbon paper to transfer a design on to the wood and then burn the line away. There are lots of source books with all kinds of images available to get you started. Have a look at Search Press who have several of this type of book on a variety of subjects http://www.searchpress.com/
Happy New Year

Wow Billie, that’s really beautiful. I’m impressed!
What’s the wood you burnt it onto? A key ring like the other, or just a decorative slab?
Rachel
Hi Rachel
This one was burnt into a decorative ‘slab’ I think the wood is Beech?? but can’t remember now.
Happy New Year
