Snow
The snow arrived BIG time yesterday, it has snowed constantly for 2 days now and we have a foot of snow out there. Will take a pic, when its safe to do so. Need to dig out the wild birds water bowl its totally burried. The feeders are very popular today with chaffinches, blue tits and great tits on there. The robbin and dunnock are looking hungry too.
If you have to travel, go careful and stay as warm as you can.
Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon
Billie

Another beautiful page. Where did you get your numbers from please? Love the embossing across the bottom.
We have a family of 6 wrens that roost every evening in the ivy alongside the kitchen window. We watch them as they all sit amongst the twiggy branches of a shrub and then fly up into the ivy one by one. They regularly hunt around the window frames for spiders and insects.
Best wishes

Hi Lynn
Funny you should mention wrens, I saw one just yesterday in the garden. Poor wee mite, hope he found good shelter. Did you see the wrens on Autumn Watch the other day? There were over 30 roosting together in nest boxes. Definately a good idea to leave the nest boxes up for them.
Thanks
Dug out a patch on the patio for the birds water, there’s a drain that means the snow doesn’t lay just there, so have now put the bath over that
The robbin comes most days and lots and lots of chaffinches. Piles of starlings and collard doves too. The blue tits are ripping the peeling paint of the summer house (it was here when we moved here) looking for spiders there too.
Numbers were cut from metallic card, using the Provocraft alphabet die set Olivia. I put a link in the list of items used
Take care if you have to go out in the snow.

Must get a die cutting machine!!!! I have a list as long as my arm of what to buy when the house is sold and there is more pennies in the bank account
We don’t have a television so didn’t the programme you mentioned although I have heard of it.
We don’t get any starlings here any more, there used to be one pair that came regularly and nested in the same tree for years. They learnt to imitate my husband’s whistle to call the dog and our poor dog would end up running back and forth because of the starlings
We have most of the tit family here – blue, long tailed, great, coal and marsh.
The farm land below us is very neglected and grows a good crop of thistles every year which we curse about but at this time of the year many goldfinches feast on the seed heads of the thistles and teasels too. Beautiful little birds. The noisiest must be the Jays who screech so much!
We saw, for the first time, earlier this year a red kite, there was only the one but its long forked tail could be clearly seen.
Do you have many greenfinches? They seem to have declined in recent years.
Lynn xx
Hi Lynn
Greefinches are suffering from a virus that’s hitting their numbers badly. Its also affecting collard doves too. We have had the occassional green finch but not many this year.
Highly recommend the Cuttlebug, for its versatility as it will use various brands of dies and also that it sticks fast to the table.
Best wishes and good luck with the move
