Reason For Buying
I’ve had my eye on this for years, and when it was on special offer on C&C in combination with a selection box of flower soft I went for it. I’ve seen flowersoft demo’d on C&C but wanted a quick an easy reference of techniques.
Purpose
QUTOE: Floral Cardmaking demonstates the simple techniques for creating beautiful miniature flower arrangements and floral backgrounds with flowersoft. Noreen takes you step by step through 6 different projects that you can make at home, including how to use flowersoft with your stamps and decoupage. After each project we take you to the gallery, which is full of wonderful cards to inspire you further. Just sprinkle a little imagination and transform your card making.
Pros/Cons
Pros
- Great introduction to flowersoft
- 6 projects show all the way through
- All items for projects clearly shown
- Projects are well explained
- Photo gallery of further projects are also described as to what was used with them
- Run time 133 minutes
- Great for the total novice to card making
Cons
Staying awake! The content is superb its just Noreen has such a quiet reassuring voice and the soothing music sent me to nod. Watch one project then go play. The DVD is divided into chapters so you can easily navigate to a particular project.
Ideal for a total newbie to card making but if you are more experienced crafter you may find the projects a bit simplistic.
Build Quality
Excellent. Production quality is first class.
- Lighting; Excellent, everything well-lit
- Sound; Excellent, no intrusive music during demos. Only music is at the start and during the gallery sections
- Camera work; Excellent, great close-ups during demos and during photogallery.
Value for Money
Good. All concepts are explained well and several different styles covered. You will get more from this as a total newbie to card making, or if you haven’t seen many demo’s on Create and Craft.
Would I buy it Again?
Yes, even though I’m more experience with card making it still stands as a great reference point for techniques using Flower Soft
Summing up
If you can’t get to a class, get this DVD. This takes you through a wide selection of styles and projects. Noreen has a gentle approach – ideal for newbies, if you are a more advanced crafter, take the concepts and techniques further with your own styles. Flower Soft is a versatile product and could be used for all kinds of creative projects.

I have one tub of flowersoft somewhere
I bought a white pack ages ago to add ‘snow’ to winter cards and used it occasionally. Just something I never ‘bought’ into as I don’t actually like it on cards
Think my grand daughter got more use out of it! I must be odd or strange as so many crafters like the product.

Hi Lynn
I’m not one to follow the trends too closely, haven’t got the budget to allow for it. I got the selection pack of colours in with the DVD as part of the bundle, my best friend got me a set of their stamps and when I get round to putting them onto ez mount I’ll have a go with the water colouring and see how they look. I kept being in the half way house situation, hadn’t got the kind of stamps to use it on so didn’t buy it, then when I had the stamps I hadn’t got the flower soft. Ducks are beginning to line up, just need to save up for some ez mount then I’ll be in business with it at last. DOH
Some of the stamps I quite like especially the street lamp one, I think most of the stamps would be great for colouring in some way. See the Americans are now going mad about flowersoft as it is now available over there.
That EZ Mount is expensive isn’t it? Have you checked out prices? have a look at Joanna Sheen’s site as she has free p&p

Hi Lynn
EZ Mount is superb though, its a faff once, then after you have it on the stamps its been good as gold and worth its extra cost. I had some stamps with the ‘other brand’ it was pointless and just collapsed as soon as you pressed on the stamp. I get mine from Joanna Sheen too.
Best wishes
Billie
