Welcome Back

Today I’d like to share another ATC that I made after playing with my Daler Rowney System 3 acrylics.

Red Texture ATC

Red Texture ATC

This one has a dark base colour, some metallic and then ageing effects applied on top. It needs more work but I have left it as is at the moment. I’ll return to it again when I have more of a plan as to how I will use it.

On the back I made a note of what paints and colours I used, so I’d remember in case I want to develop this or remake a similar colour way. Do you do this too?

I really needed this months Virtual Crafting Challenge to give me the nudge to get the paints out and play, its been a lot of fun.

Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon

Billie :)

Welcome Back

Today I’d like to share another picture of an ATC background that I made using Daler Rowney System 3 acrylic paint.

Mottle Gold

Mottle Gold

This piece is likely to be stamped over in the end with text or images, this is just a starting point. It has various colours of System 3 Original acrylic paint and a gentle wash of Imitation Gold Pale Cryla to add a subtle brightness.

I’m enjoying experimenting with colour and texture for this month’s Virtual Crafting Challenge. How about you, have you got the paints out yet this month? Give it a go, its all about having fun and trying new stuff. Use what you have in the back of the cupboard, neglected, forgotten and just waiting for a challenge like this to be given permission to come out and play.

Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon

Welcome Back

In today’s post a video tutorial to show you some techniques using Zig pens to create beautiful flowers.

Zig products used in the film:

  • Writers
  • Brushables
  • Wink Of Stella
  • Calligraphy markers

For suppliers and colour ranges, see the link at the end of the post.

After just a little practice you too could create flowers like these;

In this ATC I used the Zig Art & Graphic pens with the techniques shown in the film. The Art & Graphic pens have 80 beautiful colours in the full range. So far I’ve bought the Muted and bright tones, the rest are definately top of my wish list.

Do give the techniques a try and I’d love to see your results.
