A few weeks ago I saw a great tutorial for making a rose in paper clay, I bought a Martha Stewart kit with paper clay in but wanted a practice before opening the clay. After a rummage in the kitchen I came up with some marzipan
Here’s how my rose turned out
If you would like to make a rose from clay, marzipan or icing check out this great video tutorial I found on You Tube
Would love to see your roses if you give them a try. The good thing about making them in something re-workable is that if you make something you don’t like the look of, you just moosh it all back together and try again.
My top tip if you are doing this in marzipan and have hot paws like me, is to make all the petals first, then they have time to cool down before you go onto assembly otherwise if you apply them as soon as they are made they are a bit too soft and can sag
They turned out great and I stored them in the fridge for a while before photographing them, again so they firmed up a bit after all the handling.
Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon
