Welcome Back

The Virtual Crafting Challenge for August was to take pictures of things that inspire you. So here is the third in a series of photos that I have taken, of things that inspire me.

Old Stone Wall

Old Stone Wall

I took this picture at a ruin of an ancient abbey. I love old stone work there is so much texture and lots of different colours on the stones. This lichen was mint/powder blue. This will be inspiration for colour schemes or for distressed looks on my future projects.

What inspires you?

Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon

Peeling Paint

Peeling Paint

I took this picture at a heritage railway. The picture is of a piece of fence post, where the weather has aged the paint and made it peel.  This inspires me, firstly for the amount of different colours in the cracks and on what is left of the paint, but also the nice lichen growing on there. A great shot for playing with colours when I’m painting sometime.

Ancient leather on old luggage

Ancient leather on old luggage

I took this picture at a heritage railway, it is of the side of a leather covered packing case/trunk. This is inspiring because of the texture and all the wonderful tones of browns. I will use this picture for inspiration, when I am creating distressed looks for my craft pieces.
