Welcome Back

In today’s post I will be reviewing;

Pro Arte; Renaissance Sable Brushes

Pro Arte; Renaissance Sable Brushes

Product Details

  • Manufacturer/Brand; Pro Arte; Series RS; Rennaissance Round sable Brushes
  • RRP at time of writing: Price varies with brush size, currently available in sizes 000 to 16.

Reason For Buying

Lots of art books say how wonderful sable brushes are for water-colour. So I bought on of the Pro Arte Rennaissence sables to try. I have used their Prolene synthetic brushes in the past and they were good, so it was a brand I like.

Pros/Cons

Pros

  • Excellent for colour/water holding. The natural hair does indeed make a big difference to that
  • Superb pointing quality of the hair, once the brush is loaded with colour/water
  • Fantastic balance. The wooden handles are superbly balanced and feel very comfortable in the hand

Cons

Truly haven’t found any.

Build Quality

Fantastic. Quality natural sable hair. Quality ferule, well-balanced brush and superb finish. Excellent on all areas.

Value for Money

Excellent. They are well worth the money.

Would I buy it Again?

Yes, I highly recommend them to everyone wanting to move on to Sables. I’ve since collected my most used sizes in this range.

Summing up

Pro Arte; Renaissance Sable Brush

Pro Arte; Renaissance Sable Brush

These brushes are superb! beautiful to look at and in use, highly recommend them you try them. The price varies with brush size, so if you are watching your budget buy something like a number 4. The number 4 is large enough to demonstrate the excellent water/colour holding capacity of the brush and yet small enough to test fine detail too.

I adore these brushes, made with top quality materials and so well put together.Pro Arte Rennaissance Sable brushes are a joy to use, try them you won’t be disappointed.
