Welcome Back
I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before but one of the other crafts I enjoy when I can get suitable wood, is pyrography. This is the ancient craft of burning designs into wood. I’ll share some of the projects I have created over the next few weeks.
First up is my Celtic Angel
The images comes from a rubber stamp, I changed the sizing using a photocopy of the image, then with carbon paper transferred the design onto the wood. From there I used a Peter Child Pyrography machine to go over the design and add the shading. I wish I could say that I drew it but sadly my freehand drawing is nowhere near this good.

The Woodburner a great on-line resource for all things Pyrography http://www.woodburner.com/index.php
Checkout the download section of the Woodburner as it has tutorials.
Caution; Not all wood is safe to use for pyrography! Some woods give of toxic fumes especially MDF bacase of the glue used in its production. Check out the articles on the woodburner for more information about which woods are safe to burn with. Always work in a well ventilated area.
Best wishes and thanks for reading

Gosh this is truly beautiful – you really must get yourself some wood and rediscover this hobby babes! Lol Lynn x
Thanks GM
Definately a job for the summer though, the smoke chokes you unless you have the door open and it’s freezing now! It was 4 degrees in the studio today! Needless to say I played indoors 😉
LOL Billie xx
Awesome!
I’m a sucker for anything Celtic- I’m of Irish descent and I married a man who is from Welsh descent…
Thanks Kiley
Come back on Wednesday for a book you will probably like to have a look at 🙂 A review of one that is, not one I’ve made.
Hugs
Billie 🙂
