Welcome Back
Today I’d like to share The Virtual Crafting Challenge theme for October 2009;
Shrink Plastic & Acetate
Shrink Plastic
This plastic is available in a variety of colours and surface finishes. You will need to use a solvent based ink if you want to stamp an image onto it as pigment inks do not dry on this surface. Cut out your image and use a heat tool to ‘shrink’ it.
- Clear shrink plastic
- Opaque shrink plastic
- Black shrink plastic
Acetate
There are a few different sorts of acetate available. If you only want to use it to stamp onto and glitter any type will do. If you wish to heat emboss on to it, you will need to ensure the acetate you buy is the heat resistant kind. There is also printable acetate available that you can run through your printer.
- Stamping onto acetate
- Glittering acetate
- Shaker cards
- Window style boxes for displaying projects & cards
- Painting onto
These are just a few ideas to get you started. The idea behind this challenge is to encourage you to try new things or experiment with items you have, but may not have used for a while. Feel free to use your own ideas for ways of using Shrink Plastic and Acetate.
