Welcome Back
In the fourth installment of my Altered Baubles project here is my latest creation.
As before the original baubles looked like this;
Today’s bauble was originally bright Gold. It was coloured using Ranger’s alcohol inks in; Terracotta, Rust and Bottle.
These would make great presents and be ideal wrapped using the exploding box, shown in an earlier post. Do have a go at these yourself and let me see the results.
Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon

Your altered baubles are gorgeous! Best wishes for a great 2010 with much joy, peace and great creativity. Carol

Hi, Billie. I found your blog from visiting Carol’s blog. (She had been to mine and found a digital imaging workshop she wanted to take… I’m taking it, too.) Anyway, this is a beautiful altered Christmas ball you did. I haven’t used Ranger alchohol inks, how do you apply them to a sphere like the balls?
Happy New Year

Hi Sally
Glad you like them 🙂 they were quick and fun to make. Do this outside or with lots of windows open as the inks are quite strong. Personally I got messy with it, but if you can remove the ‘stopper’ from the bauble, then carefully insert a pencil, which will give you something to keep hold of.
I applied the ink with an applicator, the Ranger one that has velcro on it. You put a piece of felt onto the velcro then ink onto the felt. I started at the round end and worked up towards the tapered end. Hopefully the ink at the base will be dry enough for me to hold the bauble between my finger and thumb by the base and top. (Hope that made sence). I left the stopper in my baubles as it didn’t seem to want to come out.
Best wishes and Happy New Year
Billie 🙂
