On Sunday 24th January 2010, I managed to miss the bottom step of our stairs and fell in a heap on the floor. I was carrying a pillow, to have behind me on the chair, as I was still resting my back. Luckily the pillow acted as a bit of an air bag, so the fall itself hasn’t aggravated my back.
What I have trashed though, is my ankle, I twisted it as I fell. So far the signs point toward a sprain and DH strapped it with crape bandage, on the Monday. I’ve applied lots of Witch Hazel to bring out the bruising. The bandage and the Witch Hazel are definitely helping, on Sunday I could put NO weight on my foot at all and had to crawl, till my hands gave up, then ‘walk’ on my knees and haul myself up on things, which my back did not enjoy!
At the moment, I am bored senseless, but too sore to feel creative. While my foot is propped up, until the swelling goes down, I am catching up on my reading. I bought The Penland book of Handmade books, a few weeks back and that’s what I’m reading. At least I’ll have a review to go up soon.
Will try to get some creative projects made, when I can. I’ve got some video projects, that will go up on Fridays at least. Fingers crossed, my foot improves and lets me play again.
I’ve just started Julie Prichard’s new online class Project Deconstruction: Colour Basics. I think I took the ‘Deconstruction’ part FAR to literally. The class is about deconstructing paper with paint, not deconstruction ourselves! hehehe Mind you, my foot is a pretty shade of blue/purple. I guess you can find inspiration everywhere 🙂
Sorry for a tragic post, will do better next time.
