Last week I showed you a picture of an origami box, that I created for this month’s Virtual Crafting Challenge. In today’s post, I would like to share a video tutorial of how the box was made.
These boxes will vary in size, depending on what size of paper that you begin folding with. I would recommend using paper rather than card and a GSM of about 80-100 gsm. You could use patterned scrapbook paper for these boxes, or create your own patterned paper, by inking and stamping plain paper.
You Will Need:
- Two sheets of paper, cut to a square. Any size, but I demo with 6 x 6″ in the film
- Steel Ruler
- Craft Knife
- Cutting Mat
- Bone folder
- Decorative stamps
- Ink to co-ordinate with your colour scheme.
Here is the film to show you how to create your Origami Box. I am not the originator of this folded design, it is a classic from the origami world.
These boxes would be perfect for small gifts, on tables for parties and for celebrations. I hope you have a go and enjoy making these useful little boxes. The stamp I used on my film, is one of the small Ornate Corners by Clarity Stamps.
My Gift box contains a Star Book, another classic from the origami world. The stamped design again features Clarity stamps. This is my modified design, based on an original demonstration, by Barbara Gray, from Clarity stamps. As shown on Create and Craft TV in January 2010.
Clarity Stamp Barbara Gray’s excellent rubber stamp company.
There will be a video tutorial, of the creation of the star book, coming soon.
Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon
