Welcome Back
In today’s post I’d like to share a picture of the paper flower I made. This is another piece for this months Virtual Crafting Challenge, whose current theme is Paper and card.
Some weeks back my friend Lynn, over on Garden Pinks website made the most wonderful Kusudama ball using these. I’ve not got that far yet, perhaps nearer to Christmas I’ll have a go.
These flowers are quite quick to make and if you use printed paper that is different on each side you get some really pretty results. I’m hoping to experiment with some hand decorated paper and see what results that gives. My flower was made using pearl paper. I’ve linked to the instructions I followed at the end of the article. Ask me real nice and perhaps I’ll create a video tutorial on how to put one of these flowers together.

Check out the Folding Trees website as they have a tutorial on creating these flowers Kusudama and lots more projects too. It’s a fantastic resource and well worth a visit, or three 😉
Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon
Billie 🙂
Well done Billie, it looks lovely. The pearlescent paper will give it a lovely sheen too. I made some of these flowers using vellum which is a nice effect but even more fiddly as the vellum isn’t so keen to hold a nice crisp crease.
Can’t wait to see your Kusudama ball 🙂

Billie –
What a gorgeous flower! It turned out so well and looks real. And I would love for you to make us a video on how you created this sweet gem! Just lovely!
