Welcome Back

I just had to share this picture of just one of the four presses that my wonderful husband made for me for Christmas.

My new bookpress

My new bookpress

They are made from MDF, there are two around A4 in size to accommodate A6 book covers including spine pieces and two just a bit larger than A4. The larger ones will take  A5 book covers and spine pieces. So far those are my preferred sizes of book to make so I didn’t need any much bigger.

I am thrilled with these presses and can’t wait to put them into service, mind you my studio isn’t heated and is currently at best around 5 degrees! so these will be used indoors till the temperature improves. It seems to be difficult to buy presses of this kind so I am really glad to have these.

My Friend Jackie over on the T.J Book Arts has links to  tutorials that you can print. The site has instructions for making these presses and other very useful tools for bookbinding. If you would like to take a look, here is the link;

Best wishes, thanks for reading and see you soon.

Billie 🙂
