Welcome Back

Today I’d like to share a picture of a Christmas card I made using Anna Griffin clear stamps. I bought the stamps from QVC last year and I love them, they are so classic and versatile.

Welcome Back

Today I’d like to share my first attempt with brayering glossy card stock. I’ll be turning this into a Christmas card, for very special people.

Brayered Christmas card with Anna Griffin stamps

Definitely need a bigger brayer, mine was a short Ranger one and the card is A6! This card was stamped with various Anna Griffin Clear stamp images. If you have a brayer in the back of your cupboard, break out the dye based ink and glossy card and give this a go. It really is down to practice and the right card/ink combination.

The techniques I used were shown on Create and Craft by Barbara Gray from Clarity stamps. There is a regular tutorial show on the first weekednd of every month. Watch the Classroom shows online on; In the Classroom

Have fun

Best wishes

Billie :)

  • Spellbinders Nestabilities die: Curved Rectangles

Don’t forget the inside and back of your card too. If you have one of those stamps or stickers with your address on it, it really helps if you put your details on the back of the card. Friends and family sometimes loose your details and even if they would like to send you a card, without the details on the back of the card or envelope they have no way of doing so.

Have also been playing with my brayer for the first time, after seeing Barbara Gray on C&C demonstrating step by step. Will share that picture with you very soon.

Best wishes

Christmas Card

Welcome Back

Today I’d like to share a picture of the Christmas card I made. This year has got away from me, in a big way! So I gave in and bought most of my Christmas cards. Part of the reason, was that I was making hand bound books as gifts this year and I had decided to do that quite late in the season, which meant I simply ran out of time. So much for my preparation!

Here is the card I made

2009 Christmas Card Design. Featuring Twinkling H2Os

The inks used were; Ranger’s Adirondack dye based ink and Tsukeneko Versa Fine in Onyx Black

The stamps were; Creative Expressions; Holly. Hero Arts; greeting stamp

The paint used was; Twinkling H2Os

The centre panel was plain white card, stamped then the background inked in. Next I painted the main motif in using the twinkling H2Os, which contain mica. This gives the card a lovely pearly sheen, when the light hits it.

The stamp plate also contains smaller motifs, which I used in the inside of the card and on the back. The greeting on the left, was from the Holly plate and the one on the right, was a Hero Arts one.

The base card is ivory hammered card from The Paper Mill shop.

Best wishes and thanks for reading, see you soon

Welcome Back

I would like to share the card I made for the Stamping Mad Forum’s Christmas and Yule card swap.

00168p001

I used the Village stamp from Creative Expressions, with Versafine ink in sepia. The lamp post is stamped in Onyx Black Versafine ink, they are coloured with Derwent Artists Pencils. The poinsettia are coloured with Twinkling H20s, sadly the Icicle colour that I used to show snow doesn’t photograph well :(

DH helped me create an insert in Word for the inside of the card, which gave it a nice professional finish.

Welcome Back

If you are a family member look away now or this will spoil the surprise. Here is the card I have made for the family’s Christmas cards. I have to say that when you are making cards in large numbers the only way to go is to keep it simple. I try to go for elegant rather than fussy. I hope I’ve pulled that off.

Best wishes and thanks for reading

Billie :)

PS Still experimenting with adding blue background to photos, do let me know what you think in the comments box below.
