Welcome Back
This month’s challenge is;
Lots of Layers
Decoupage
Either from printed sheets or using your rubber stamps. Try stamping an image several times and layering sections of the image on top of the original.
Matting and layering
- Use co ordinating layers of cardstock under your main image to add dimension and as a focus.
- If you struggle to cut mats accurately try using tearing eemplates that are available in a variety of shapes.
- Nestabilites dies by Wizard are available in a range of sizes an shapes and are a simple way of achieving accurate sized mats, if that is your wish.
- Go nuts make waky shaped mats rather than pristine ones, how about tearing rather than neatly cutting them???
Medallion Stamps;
There are a wide variety of medallion stamps available, you can simply stamp them and colour them in. Alternatively, stamp them several times on different coloured card and cut each layer smaller than the last and layer them on top of each other.
- Stamp a single medallion and colour it in using your chosen medium, eg paint, pencil, glitter.
- Multiple layer medallions, repeat stamp your medallion on card, cut each layer smaller than the last and layer these on top of each other. Then colour them in using your chosen medium, eg paint, pencil, glitter.
- Multiple layer medallions, repeat stamp your medallion on different coloured card, cut each layer smaller than the last and layer these on top of each other.
Medallion Peel offs
You don’t have to use special stamps for this technique there are several peel offs designed to be used as Medallions too. Again stick them on to different coloured card and layer them for a more intricate and dimensional look. You can add glitter or laqueres for a more dramatic effect too.
- Stick a single medallion and colour it in using your chosen medium, eg paint, pencil, glitter.
