Hi All
A good friend of mine pointed me at some lovely budgie stamps on Joanna Sheen’s website. They were drawn by Jayne Netley Mayhew, I just couldn’t resist them. This pair are quite small and lent themselves well to the domino sized stampbord.
Stamps; Joanna Sheen; Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection; Budgerigar JNM514. Crafty Individuals; swirl
Inks; Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Adirondack Dye ink, Tsukeniko Versafine
Look out for the other stamps in the Jayne Netley Mayhew range, there are birds and a selection of other animals too.
This is one without the glaze

Love your budgie necklace, I have this stamp but not used it yet, I also love your Stampboard perpetual calendar.
Thank you for stopping by blog today.
xxx Hazel.
Hi Hazel
Thanks for your visit too, I’d have left a comment your blog too, but I couldn’t find what to click to do that. You have some lovely designs, especially the vintage ones. They remind me of the watercolours in classic story books, really nice.
Best wishes

Hi Billie –
OMG! These are just the cutest things! I love the stamped image and it goes without saying I love your pendants. You’ve done a lovely job of stamping on them, they are just beautiful!
Elaine
Hi Elaine
Thanks 🙂 You know I love my budgies and its so hard to find anything with images of budgies on.
Best wishes
Billie 🙂
Billie these are gorgeous, such cute budgies. Love the stampbord pendants, you won’t find anything like that in the shops 🙂
What did you use for a glaze on the first one? Love that swirl stamp background too.
Hugs

Hi Lynn
Thanks 🙂 the glaze is UTEE (Ultra thick embossing enamel) Just apply clear embossing ink, then go over it with the powder. Repeat 3 times for the nice raised finish and it seals in the ink. Punch your hole before you emboss though 😉

Love the birdies Billie! I like stampbord, but find it such a pain to cut to a manageable size… I have aslo discovered that you can buy a cheaper version at “art shops” – known as artists’ clayboard… I haven’t bought any yet, but that’s what a friend told me.
Where do you buy your Versafine black ink pads? Have looked around online but I can either not find it, or get distracted before I do! Lol! 🙂
Hi Rosie
Thanks 🙂 How come you are trying to cut stampboard? What size are you trying to make it into, or are you after non standard shapes?
Versafine is easy to get, try joanna sheen (free P&P) or Cre8tive online: http://www.cre8tiveonline.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=42_340. There are a list of rubber stamp retailers on the Stamping tab at the top, the ones I use most are listed at the top of that page 😉
I love Versafine as you can watercolour over it, the ONyx Black is a superb rich black and its easier to clean off stamps than Stayz on 😉
Cre8tive Online also have a range of colours, the other one I use a lot is the Vintage sepia. When funds allow I’d collect more classic colours like grey, dk blue, dk purple etc. Its a lovely ink and works so well on detailed stamps.
Hope that helps.

Hi Billie!
I adore your Budgies! The lighter one reminds me exactly of my old Budgie Joey – noisy little thing he was! Gorgeous work 🙂
Hi Suzie
Thanks 🙂 Yes my three get very noisy too, they try to compete with the hoover and out shout it hehehe
Best wishes

Lovely pretty Budgies – they make cute pendants. They remind me of a blue Budgie I had when I was a kid, it was called Puck.
Hi Jackie
Aww thanks 🙂 I’ve made another one of these, I must remember to add a photo of the pair that inspired it. I’ve got a small flock of three boys, Tiny Minty and Robin. They all adore each other but Tiny and Robin are very close and often snuggle up like this.
Best wishes
Billie 🙂
