Welcome Back
A week ago today my beautiful budgie Sky died, she had a fall in the cage and the bad landing caused eggs inside her to break. We rushed her to the vet but she died on the way there. I am devistated as is her partner bird Minty. Poor Sky was only three years old. Sky came to live with us on 3rd June 2006 and died on 4th June 2009.
This is my beautiful baby Sky in better times
That picture shows Sky with Blue, who we sadly lost back in April. Its not been a good few months for us.
Sky and Minty were inseperable, when we bought them they were snuggled up together and although we hadn’t intended buying two I couldn’t have seperated them. They have been so close and always doing adorable snuggly kissing or preening.
When they first came home they were only six weeks old, we had them in quarantine cages for a few weeks and they were forever climbing into the seed pots and kicking the seed out.
Best wishes and thanks for reading

Oh Billie –
I’m so very sorry to hear about Sky. Two of your babies gone in such a short time. Poor Minty must be heartbroken and lost without her. Sky and Blue were so beautiful. At least they are now together, it is poor Minty who will need more care and attention now. Please know my thoughts are with you, I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet.
Take care

Dear Elaine
Thanks so much for your kind words, they are very much appreciated. Its a big cage with just the three boys in there now.
Tiny has taken charge, and Minty follows a bit. Harry will follow anyone.

Billie –
I love Harry’s story. What a beautiful boy. Isn’t it strange how they each have their own personalities and how quickly we become attuned to them? Hugs and kisses to all the boys.
Love – Elaine
Hi Elaine
The boys all sing and send kisses back to you 🙂 Its surprising how much having Harry out for some exercise has helped his confidence. He used to just climb around the cage, now he flys when he can. This is an ongoing story, so do save the link if you want to find out how Harry gets on.
Do you have birds?
Thanks for your message, best wishes

Hi Billie –
No birds, I have dogs. But my sister has a Quaker Parrot named Cleo. Whenever my sister goes on vacation Cleo comes to live with me, usually 2 or 3 times a year for about 2 to 3 weeks at a time. She just makes us laugh, she is such a wonderful mimic. She lets me know if I am running behind on her dinnertime, she makes the sound of a metal spoon stirring in a pot. When I put her down on the sofa between my husband and I, she will run and attack him if he moves to close to me. My dogs love her because she drops popcorn on the floor for them, she will actually whistle for them when she is ready to give them treats – lol. My grandfather had love birds when I was little and he used to let me hold them. He also had a black Myna bird named Cupid when I was a teenager. My grandfather owned a small corner grovery store in Los Angeles, California and he would bring Cupid to the store. We used to laugh because everytime a young attractive woman walked by Cupid would whistle! The girls would look at my grandfather as if to say “What a dirty old man” and he would point at the bird. They wouldn’t believe him until Cupid started to talk and whistle at them. We used to have so much fun with him. So while I don’t personally have any birds, I am quite familiar with them and find them fascinating.
Hugs – Elaine
