Welcome Back
Today I’d like to share with you the picture I created for lesson 8 of Julie Prichard’s Layer Love on-line painting class.
The funny thing about this painting was that I put the first couple of layers down and hated the result, I put the painting aside hoping it would grow on me and almost started over. Instead I continued with what I had and the later layers completely changed the picture and in the end I really like the result. It’s amazing just how different the painting is the further you go.
For anyone nervous of painting but liking this kind of style do give Julie Prichard’s classes a go. They are superb, you get many videos where Julie takes you step by step through the process. Also included is membership to a Ning network where you can share you finished work with the group and interact with other students and with Julie herself. I’ve loved this class, it has taken me from being afraid of paint to embracing it and experimenting with it on different surfaces to the point where I now love to paint.
If you have had bad art teaching in the past where you were told you can’t paint, banish the demons with this class. Julie is very kind, helpful and encouraging and you will also make lots of new creative friends in the class network.
Treat yourself to a creative present by buying this on-line class. You won’t believe how much fun it can be with just a few materials and encouragement. You know you want to 😉 and who knows where it might lead you 🙂

It took me two months searching to find Golden’s Fluid Acrylic paint in the UK, so in a break from tradition I am linking to a specific store that stocks it in the UK.
