Welcome Back
In today’s post I would like to introduce our Featured Artist, for May 2014
Jennie Boxall: The Artistic Stamper
I discovered her work thanks to UK Stampers forum, but for those of you who haven’t yet found The Artistic Stamper aka Jennie Boxall, here is a little more about her and her work.
Who you are:
Jennie B: I am Jennie Boxall; Formerly a jeweller, now a rubber stamp manufacturer, and altered artist.
Where you are (which country you are based in)?
Jennie B: Kent, UK England.
What you do:
Jennie B: Mainly I spend my days running a rubberstamp business, doing the paperwork, answering emails, and making stamps, but on the odd occasion that is my time, I create artwork for myself and for teaching on workshops.
What got you started in your creative journey?
Jennie B: I have always done some kind of craft since I was little girl, so if it can be altered into something else, I will do it: paper, fabric, wool, metal, wood.
What inspires you:
Jennie B: The things around me inspire me, but I do collect lots of “stuff” from paper to boxes to mother of pearl counters, oh and I love bowls!! so my inspiration comes from those things around me, as well as magazines and books, and of course all those wonderfully creative artists in the paper world!
If money, time and obligations were no object, what you would most like to do?
Jennie B: Travel to all those places I have never been to! with my sketchbook and camera, of course!
What do you enjoy most about your creative work/life?
Jennie B: I love the fact that I get to see such wonderful work created, especially in my workshops. Everyday is different, and I have never been bored in the 21 years I have been in the business.
